Who can participate in WIP?
ALL faith-based organizations are welcome to participate in Worship in Pink! We want to spread lifesaving messages about breast health to as many people as possible and we encourage your organization to join us.
When is WIP?
Worship in Pink takes place throughout the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month). You decide when you’d like to have your program.
How can my organization register?
Register online at www.komenatlanta.org/WIP. Please contact Theru Ross at 404-814-0052 if assistance is needed. Materials are limited, so don’t delay!
What exactly does my organization have to do to participate?
Your organization can do as little or as much as it would like for Worship in Pink. Access our toolkit which includes sample scripts, bulletin announcements, breast cancer facts and more to help you plan. Most organizations distribute education materials after a service, invite their members to wear pink, or host a fundraiser to make a donation to Komen Atlanta. We encourage you to be creative with your plans for WIP and to make it fun and engaging for your audience.
Does Komen Atlanta provide speakers?
We strongly recommend that each organization identifies a member of their own congregation to serve as a Worship in Pink speaker. Komen Atlanta has trained breast health awareness speakers; however, speakers are very limited and will be scheduled based on availability. Please have a plan in place in case Komen Atlanta cannot send a speaker to your event as we will not be able to accommodate all speaker requests. October is a very busy month for Komen Atlanta staff and volunteers. To request a speaker please complete our Speaker Request Form.
