Surviving & Thriving 2015 – Survivorship Conference

Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) and Susan G. Komen® Greater Atlanta are excited to present Surviving and Thriving in 2015 – our inaugural survivorship conference for breast cancer survivors and co-survivors.

Hosted at CTCA® on Saturday, March 21, this conference will provide breast cancer survivors and co-survivors with the resources and tools to make 2015 your best year yet! The half-day program will include presentations about survivorship, mindfulness, fitness, nutrition and overall wellness.

    • Getting Your Groove Back – Survivorship Presentation
      What does it mean to be a survivor? What are the unique challenges you face as a breast cancer survivor, and how can you overcome them? Living a healthy lifestyle to prevent recurrence.
    • Prescription for Change – Mindfulness Presentation
      How stress reduction, meditation, relationships and body image can affect your overall wellness.
  • 10:45 – 11:00 AM: Break
  • 11:00 – 12:00 PM: Breast Cancer: A Look Into the Future
    • Breast Cancer Treatment – presented by Dr. Anita Johnson, Medical Director of Breast Surgical Oncology with CTCA’s Southeastern Regional Medical Center
    • Breast Cancer Research – presented by Dr. Neil Spector, Associate Professor of Pharmacology & Cancer Biology at Duke University and Susan G. Komen Scholar
  • 12:00 – 1:30 PM: Lunch
    • Thrive and network with other survivors
    • Fitness presentation – Couch to 5K Program
